Thanks for taking your time to read our reviews of the Philips 3000 electric shavers. The Philips brand offer various ranges of electric shavers and they mainly call them by numbers. To date they have a 3,000, 5,000, 7,000 and 9,000 range of shavers.
Their 3000 range is their oldest range of shavers that are still being manufactured and sold on the UK market. Within that range they have a couple of electric shavers with the following model numbers: S3233/52 and 3333/54. There are a couple of other models but they have little to no sales shown against them so we have left them out and we focus on the two models mentioned as they still sell pretty well in the UK.
Philips Shaver Series 3000 Dry and Wet Electric Shaver
(Model S3233/52)
This remains one of the biggest selling shavers online and it is popular as it is just a very good quality razor
It is classed as a cordless shaver so doesn't need to be plugged in to use it
It takes an hour to charge the shaver and that will give you an hour's worth of shaving time - there is also a quick 5 minute charge which will allow you enough for one full shave - handy when you are in a hurry and the battery has gone flat
This uses a lead that plugs into the shaver to charge rather than a cradle.
It is a rotary shaver (not foil) with three heads and each head contains 9 very well engineered self-sharpening blades
The actual head of the shaver does move or flex and that allows the shaver to get around the various angles of the neck and chin
You can use this shaver to shave dry or it can also be used if you want a wet shave using a soap, cream, gel or foam.
It has a small pop-up beard trimmer.
The grip on this shaver is really comfortable and gives you a nice grip when using the shaver. The beauty of this shaver is that it is just not complicated. There is an on/off button and three small charging lights that shows the strength of the battery. These lights are also visible when charging so as you know when the charge is complete.
The head of the shaver flips open so as you can give it a quick clean. For a deeper clean you can also wash out the head to get rid of hairs and then just allow it to dry.
There is a plastic protective cap for the head that clips on and there is also a small drawstring pouch.
