Philips OneBlade Pro Hybrid Trimmer UK Review
This is our review of the Philips OneBlade Pro, with model number QP6520/30. This is an interesting hair trimmer as it is a cross between a beard trimmer and a razor/shaver. If you want something that will take off about 90% of the facial hair quickly, then this is the one for you. It can also be used for body hair removal.
With reference to your face, you can then keep that stubble look, or quickly finish off with a normal razor. Essentially this hybrid trimmer from Philips speeds up the entire shaving and trimming process.
This product is bought a lot by UK buyers ,and has quite literally sold in its thousands. Overall buyers rate this hybrid as 4.2 out of 5 stars. That is a steady and consistent rating.
What Buyers Say About the Philips OneBlade Pro QP6520/30
This one has a very high RRP of around £89.99. Before buying something at this price, it is certainly very important to read about it as much as you can. After all, that is probably why you are reading this UK review right now.
If you look around online, you should be able to pick this trimmer and shaver up for under £55. At that price, we think this is a good enough buy. At the RRP we think that is a little too rich for most pockets.
Just below, we have rated by percentage, how many stars actual buyers have awarded this shaver. We have shown those in the chart below. At the time of doing this there were just over 1,300 buyer reviews to base these figures on.
So at a glance you can now see, that around two thirds of buyers rated this trimmer/shaver as a 5 star product. Around 78% of buyers rated it 4 stars or higher. Those are consistent and good buyer ratings. There were however 10% of 1 star or unhappy buyers. We will dig into that and try to find out why.
The 10% is unusually high so well worth investigating.
To sum up the overall average, with over 1,300 buyer reviews available, this Philips Hybrid has maintained an average rating of 4.2 out of 5 stars (84% satisfaction)
Philips OneBlade Pro Hybrid Trimmer and Shaver Specification
On the right you can see an image of this One blade trimmer and shaver. It uses a single blade to trim, edge and shave. As such it is a good all round body groomer.
You are not going to get an ultra close shave with this type of trimmer. What this does do is remove hair quickly, and the fact that it is cordless also makes it very convenient.
A blade will typically last up to 4 months before you have to buy a replacement one. A blade costs around £12 or a pack of 2 for about £20.
This trimmer can trim, edge and shave off any length of hair. You can also use as a wet or dry shave. That means it can be used for a normal dry trim or shave, but also along with a foam or gel.
It can even be used in the shower.
A full charge takes around one hour and that gives 90 minutes of shaving.
- This product comes with a two-pin bathroom plug for charging purposes

Philips OneBlade Pro Hybrid Trimmer Pros and Cons
Like any trimmer there are usually good and bad points. We here at the Shaving Emporium prefer to advise our readers of both sides of the argument, before making any conclusions.
We have read the reviews, yes all of them, and then summarised those to try and make your decision, that little bit easier. By examining these carefully, you get some really useful information, and that of course does include any problems.
It is that which we have carefully summarised below.
As I pointed out already, there are 10% of poor reviews, and we have included both the good and the bad points, according to real life buyers.
- Buyers said this one is fast but does not give a really close shave - if you want that, then you need to finish shaving in your preferred manner
- Does a good enough job if you are looking for a quick trim a couple of times a month
- Buyers said this worked great for quickly removing hair from all over the body
- Great for leaving a nice stubble with neat edges
- The replacement blades are too expensive and they go blunt far too quickly
- Just does a mediocre job - nothing special
One buyers summed this up as shaving for lazy people. Now I think that is a little bit harsh, but I do agree with what he is trying to say. This is not a high end shaver and it is not designed to work like that.
This is for someone who wants a trimmer, shaver or edging tool to quickly remove hair. It does that job really well. You do have a choice of length settings, and it does charge quickly. Personally I don't like any product where you have to buy replacement blades.
That is because I forget to buy them ,and they are also expensive. Each blade for this costs around £10. Depending on how much you use this, that could quickly add up.

Overall this seems to do a good enough job for most buyers. Buyers also though this was good value for money.
The major drawback for me anyway is having to buy replacement blades. Those are dear enough, but for me it is just the hassle of having to remember to buy them.
They are cordless which is handy and the charge is fast, which is also good.
Personally this is not something I would use as I much prefer wet shaving. For those people who are in a hurry, and want something fast, then this one will work. You will never get a really close shave, but you will get a fast one.
For some buyers that is really all that they want.
