Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc4 Specification
On the right you can see an image of this shaver, when out of the box. It is obvious simply by looking at this, that it is a very high quality shaver.
As you can see this uses a 4 blade system to do the shaving. It also has a dual motor which delivers what is called a linear drive.
The net result of that combination is that it delivers 14,000 cuts per minute on each blade. That makes a total of 56,000 cutting actions.
That is what one of the dual motors does, and the other motor then moves the shaver head up and down, the purpose being to lift and hold the hairs up so as the blades can cut the hair cleanly.
This also has a pop up trimmer for sideburns and moustaches.
- It is a 4 blade cordless electric shaver
- It can either be used as a dry electric shaver, or as a wet electric shaver,
- Has an LED that provides the user with a lot of information
- Can be used as a corded or cordless product
- A dual linear motor system
- 14,000 cycles per minute
Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc4 Men's Electric Razor Pros & Cons
Like any electric shaver there are usually good and bad points. We here at the Shaving Emporium prefer to advise our readers of both sides of the argument, before making any conclusions.
This is a high end shaver from the Panasonic brand. What makes this different is the dual motor, the 4 blades and the way that this model has been highly engineered to make a very good cutting device.
As I mentioned earlier, there are lot of reviews for this razor. We have read the reviews, almost all of them, and then summarised those to try and make your decision, that little bit easier.
By examining these carefully, you get some really useful information, and that of course does include any problems.
It is that which we have carefully summarised below.
- Most buyers said this shaver gives a great close shave, and also very fast to have a shave with thanks to the size of the head
- Only takes one hour for a full charge
- 1 or 2 passes is all that is required for a close shave
- Great as a dry shaver and even better when used as a wet shave
- Around 5% of all buyers believed that this was not the shaver for them
- A few buyers were disappointed with the Panasonic brand and thought this was just too expensive
Overall the reviews on this are excellent. Those that we did find that were bad were mainly to do with the price and a little about the Panasonic brand.
We searched YouTube for any videos on this Panasonic shaver. There were a few available, but we found this one to be the most useful.

Our Recommendation on the Panasonic ES-LA63-S Arc4 Men's Electric Razor
This is a high quality, high end shaver. This one does not have a cleaning system. It has a pivoting head and that of course allows it to get into the various contours on the face.
Almost every buyer says it gives a very close shave, and that after all is the main purpose of any electric shaver. On the downside, the head is pretty big, and that does make it a little bit hard to cut the hairs on the top lip.
You will find your own way of getting that done, but mainly it is about finding the right angle. The unit is waterproof and that means you can rinse it under the tap to clean it.
It also means that you can shave with this in the shower if your prefer. Personally I used this one with some good quality shaving cream, and that worked out really well.
Dry or wet is of course a matter of choice, but with this model you at least have the choice.
